Windows App Privacy Policy
- The app displays the live markets dashboard from gmdmarkets.com inside a secure web view. No extra layer of data collection is added by the app itself.
- Your IP address is logged server-side when the app loads the dashboard. This is standard web server behaviour and applies to the website and the app equally.
- Your dashboard layout (card and gauge order) is saved locally on your device only. It is never sent to our servers.
- The app does not access your microphone, camera, location, contacts, or any other device data.
- No account or sign-up is required.
- We do not sell your data.
GMD Global Markets Dashboard is a Windows desktop application published on the Microsoft Store by GMDMarkets Creator. The app displays the live markets dashboard from gmdmarkets.com inside a secure embedded web view, giving you a full-screen, browser-free experience of the same dashboard available on the web.

GMDMarkets Creator is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with this app.
2.1 - Network requests
When you open the app, it makes an internet connection to gmdmarkets.com
to load the live dashboard. Each request includes a GMDashboardApp tag
in the request header so our server can distinguish app traffic from website traffic.
This tag contains no personal information.
As with any web request, our server automatically logs your IP address, browser type (reported as the web view's user agent), and the pages visited. This is standard web server behaviour. Logs are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes and then purged.
2.2 - Data the app does NOT collect
- No name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- No financial data, trading history, or portfolio information
- No location data
- No microphone or camera data
- No contacts or calendar data
- No crash or diagnostic telemetry beyond what Windows itself collects at the OS level
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking
The app stores the following data locally on your device only, inside the web view's localStorage. This data is never transmitted to our servers:
- Dashboard layout - your preferred order of market sections and gauges, saved automatically when you drag to reorder them.
- Cookie notice acknowledgement - a flag that records whether you have dismissed the cookie notice bar.
You can clear this data at any time by resetting the app's data in Windows Settings, or by using the Reset View option inside the dashboard.
The app declares only the following Windows capability:
- Internet (Client) - required to connect to gmdmarkets.com and load the live markets dashboard. Without an internet connection the app cannot display any data.
No other capabilities (microphone, webcam, location, contacts, background tasks, push notifications, Bluetooth, or any other device feature) are declared or used.
Because the app displays gmdmarkets.com inside a web view, the same third-party services that operate on the website also apply inside the app:
- Google Fonts - font files are loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log your IP address when delivering those files.
- Affiliate partner links - if you click a partner link (Interactive Brokers, TradingView, tastytrade, CoinGecko), you are redirected to that partner's website where their own privacy policy and cookies apply.
All market data APIs (Yahoo Finance, Alpaca, FRED, CNN, Finnhub, Anthropic Claude AI) are queried server-side by gmdmarkets.com. The app does not contact these services directly. See the full privacy policy for details.
This app is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the app and personal data has been collected, please contact us at privacy@gmdmarkets.com and we will delete it promptly.
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or California, you have rights regarding your personal data (access, deletion, portability, and others) as described in the full privacy policy, Section 9.
Given that the only personal data the app causes to be collected is your IP address in server logs (retained up to 90 days), the practical scope of most rights is limited. To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@gmdmarkets.com.
If we update this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes - such as the addition of new data collection or new third-party integrations - will also be noted in the What's New page.
